Silicon Corridor Linux User Group

About us

SCLUG is the Linux User Group for Berkshire. Founded in June 1995 by a group of Linux enthusiasts, we exist to support users of Linux-based operating systems in Reading, Maidenhead, Slough, Bracknell, Windsor, Newbury, and the surrounding areas, and to provide a forum for the free software community of this region. Whether you're new to Linux or a seasoned expert, this group will hopefully be of interest to you.

Contact

Between meetings we chat on the email group you can subscribe here, or on our Signal group. Some people are still on the old Telegram Group

Meetings

We meet on the second Wednesday of each month at the Back of Beyoynd, in Kings Road, Reading. These meetings are informal and start at half past seven.

The next meeting will be at 19:30 Wed 8th Jan 2025.

New members are always welcome. Some of us travel a long way to the meetings, so if you want to join in but don't have good transport links to Reading then you may be able to get a lift. You may even want to start a second venue for SCLUG meetings if there are enough people in your area.

If you decide to just turn up at the pub, we're usually to be found at the front of the pub or opposite the bar: look out for the small furry penguin.

Events

From time to time we organize special events, during which members of the public can bring computers to have Linux installed and get advice from local experts. Please subscribe to the mailing list for up to date information.
